My Philosophy
Healing is a paradox. No one can do it for you, but you can't do it alone. We need a guide, a muse, a trickster, a teacher -- someone who enlivens our higher self -- to encourage us to move toward what we'd rather avoid. There is no growth without struggle. No consciousness without pain. The truth within us is worth it, and we are always stronger than we think we are.
As humans on earth we are lifelong students in an extraordinary classroom, where each obstacle is an opportunity to learn:

-
How to connect to the healing power of nature, spirit, and creativity
-
Our own and others' limits and boundaries
-
How to truly love our selves and others
-
The power of our beliefs, thoughts and emotions
-
How to accept responsibility for our creative potential
Transformational Healing is an on-going learning and growing process. On physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual levels we take the hero's journey on a path of initiation within our own being; integration of lost and rejected parts of our self; and individuation of a uniquely authentic self, contributing to the whole of humanity.
We can choose to heal/grow/change/develop/transform/shift no matter how lost or broken we may feel. It's ok to feel resistant or stubborn, even as we yearn for change. There's nothing more human! We can commit to work for our own improvement and the general good; surrender and ask for help. Our willingness to be vulnerable and endure states of discomfort and uncertainty helps us learn new ways of being and behaving.

This journey is only possible when we seek attunement with our bodies and with nature, where we (physically and metaphysically) integrate the meaning of the matter at hand. We can't do it all alone. Being seen, heard and safely touched enlivens our innate healing power.

My Healing Journey
My philosophy has grown out of my lived experiences. I have stubbornly resisted and willingly surrendered to the help of the divine as well as numerous teachers and healers many times over on my healing journey: through anorexia nervosa as a teenager, co-dependent relationships in my 20s, and chronic pain due to multiple disc herniations through much of my 30s and 40s. I live in gratitude for the lineage of healers that supports me and is carried forward through my work with clients.

My healing over the years has included:
-
seeing psychotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, physical trainers, Rosen and shamanic practitioners, intuitive psychics, and chakra, reiki and qi-gong energy workers
-
writing and performing in theatre, dancing Butoh, and playing original music with a band
-
working with the Tarot, I-Ching, Celtic Runes, and the Enneagram to awaken intuition and archetypal consciousness
-
study of numerous spiritual, psychological and esoteric teachings

I take to heart the ancient proverbs, "Know thyself" and "Physician, heal thyself." Knowing how hard, but rewarding deep inner work and physical recovery can be, I feel called and honored to offer my perspective and skills to others on the healing path.
